Default Man, hospital bills are expensive!

I stepped on a nail a week ago. I drove myself to the ER and got the following:

-Checked my temperature, weight and BP
-Tetanus shot
-Saline shot into the hole in my foot
-A big band-aid

I was in and out in an hour, probably half of that time sitting on a bed without interaction.

$800

I just have to pay my deductible...but still

The ER will do you in the ass. When I broke my collar bone they took an x-ray, gave me a $5 sling and a bottle of ibuprofen and it was about $1500. Luckily the deductible was already met or I would have been screwed.

I pay $200 for ER, $20 for Dr visits and checkups, $10 for meds.

I am happy with my med coverage

My medical coverage was awesome during my collarbone breakage. I had to pay $30 everytime I saw my orthopedic surgeon (3 times total) to get x-rays, and he was a team doctor for the Oakland A's. I had physical therapy twice a week for a month...didn't pay a dime. Paid $12 for 90 vicodin, twice. I was happy.

Same for me, except $100 for ER. I am happy that I get coverage through work though...costs me $50 a month

correct. and it wasn't really 1k i had either. but i got it down i a couple months. i got laid off like a month or two after getting the final bill. they all didn't roll in at once. i thought i paid it off, then another one for 200 came in. they kept on coming in until i hit my 1k deductible.
