:dunno: The reason that Takumi was able to beat Ryosuke was because he's familiar with Akina. But on 3rd Stage where he race the Black Evo dude at Team Emperor's course with his new engine, Takumi barely wins, but people considered it's a draw.

Then Takumi challenged Ryosuke again over at his own field, but the movie never said who's win, it's rather a battle where Takumi yearn out to reach to Ryosuke. Then Takumi decided to join Ryosuke's new Team. From what I see, There's not really a winner or looser in that re-match. The drove at full potential and were so close together all the way. Then Takumi graduate HS and work as a delivery boy. He also spent time with Ryosuke and the new team to work on his car and develop his ability. I want to see the continuous of that series soooo bad........

Technically, the hachiroku is his. But he gives it to Takumi, and according to the manga, he drives a WRX now (the older model).

Okay, sorry. Since most of the money was used to fix the car belonged to Takumi, the car is "partly" his. Takumi does not own the car entirely. At least this is by going with the anime.

I think that the car was given to him entirely in the manga so that he has means of transportation while Bunta still worked at the Tofu shop and got himself a WRX...
