I am opening Saturday morning, about 0830, which was a few hours earlier than normal, because Nick the manager is hip to the idea of selling a few thousand meals and drinks.

Foursome was there waiting when I went to open the front door. They pick out a nice table on the balcony. I give them the menus and tell them it will be a minute for the coffee to make. They are not interested in coffee, and order bloody marys. I was taken aback by someone drinking with breakfast, and commented about it. I had never had a bloody mary before and they offered to buy me a drink. It did not sound all that great, but I accepted and it turned out to be just the ticket, as I was a bit hungover. I ended up making about a grand that day

I had actually not gone home the night before, because it was Jazz Fest. When you work someplace where there are a dozen bar and restaurants within a few blocks, and you know most of the bartenders, well you have a lot of late nights.

I ended up at a friend's house the night before with some Polish girls that we met that were absofuckinglutely gorgeous. He was designated driver, because he was diabetic and could not drink, and we had to both be at work early the next day.

It was a lot of fun working down there during the summer. There was this place called the Hog's Head Brewpub, that generally. It was sort of a basement, which most of the buildings in Old Sac have, because they built the street level up with landfill, to diminish the impact of flooding, way back when. There are places where you can see the walls they built on either side of the street. I would go there after the restaurant closed, as they were generally open a few hours later than we were. That is where we picked up those Polish beauties as a matter of fact.

Had whiskey for breakfast when on vacation at Lake Tahoe one time 10 or 12 years ago. The wife had won about $5Gs the night before, which was pretty all right. Paid for the whole trip and then some. We were up late hitting the margaritas, was up drinkin' Crown at 0700.

bloody mary makes for a great liquor hangover cure

a quick beer in the morning makes for a great overall hangover cure

and nothing like waking up the morning of a big concert/game/event and starting the party off right with a bump or two
