Default Digi Cameras

Ok I need to get a digi cam for real. I mean I got so much stuff I wanna take picts of and show you guys and a bunch more people. Anyway, whats a good digi cam that I can get for maybe under $200? I just wanna take snapshots with this cam. Any accessories I need to get w/ it either?

And also, how much more would a digital video cam cost me? I like to watch street racing videos and maybe put some up that I come across. Any suggestions would be great, thanks !

$200 would barely get you a 3mp digital camera. I like Sony. However Kodak and Fuji are good brands as well.

Digital Video Cameras are like $600+

Nikon Coolpix line goes from lowend $150 models upto $2000 professional models. They are very nice.

heard Cannon made a great digi camera for around that price. I think "megapixel.com" or something has reviews.

i bought the nikon coolpix 2100 (2.1mp) i think it was like $250... i've had a lot of cameras, and this is a pretty nice size/weight/picture quality ratio.

I've got a fujifilm Finepix series and the color capture is HORRID. Do not buy this brand.

edit: If you want proof... look for pics from the Holyoke Ma meet from 4/19. Look at my pictures and then look at everyone else's. The yellow on my car (in my sig also, that was from my camera) looks like ass on my Fujifilm.

actually all coolpix are consumer models

their profession models get the D designation as in D100, etc. and the $2000 will only get your the camera body. lenses are extra!

my friend owns a Sony Cybershot P31 (2.0MP) and that's a pretty good camera, nice features and options....i think the major downside to that camera is only the megapixels.

it does shoot video but without sound, and the videos are really poopy

but that's my suggestion
