Default Tranny cooling line

I need to replace the end of my autotransmission cooling line. How would I flare the straight steel line to connect to this fitting? Or is there a better way to connect it without buying the $100 BMW line. Btw, this is the $10 piece that goes on the other end up the line. Exact same part except the original one is crimped to the steel line instead of this fitting.

For reference, this is what the other side of the fitting should look like.

lee i don't think he can flare a line like that with just a flare kit . . . that fitting on the steel piece seats against the nut and the fitting.

it seats both ways and then compresses when tightened against both, no?

i know there are some compression seals you might be able to buy to make this work, sort of like a compression fitting you can use to half-ass a brake line fix but i wouldn't trust it. i'd buy the line if it was me
