Default Building a computer

I have all the parts for my new computer amd 2700 xp memory, harddrive. I know where everything goes. However is there any order that I should place anything? Any special tips?

red line on the IDE cable goes on the side with the power supply. that would have save me about an hour or 2 the first time i build one. :exnbp: but newer ones have those notches now.

wheres the vcard?

and while its going in, think about how you are going to arrange the wiring.

ide cable should be attched to the motherboard so that pin one is matched with red line on the cable. if you plan on connecting more then one thing to an ide controller set the jumpers as needed.

it usually doesn't matter, but sometimes if you put cards in the wrong order, it can mess things up. i usually put the network card away from the video card, but that's only because i've had problems with the nic next to the video card before.
