I had an interview with Bank of America today in Sacramento. Before I started out on the drive Comerica called me and arranged for another interview later on this week. With Comerica calling me I realized that I no longer wanted the job with BofA in though I was fairly certain I would get a job offer today. Anyway, I devcided to drive down there anyway (maybe I could negociate for better compensation or whatever).

So..... I print out a map and drive down there (2 hours) and on the way into Sac I realize that I was gonna be late. So, already pissed about that (and I didn't have the number of the HR person with me) I wouldn't find the DAMN exit on I-80 (was looking for Northgate ).

So long story short I drove from San Jose to Sac for nothing...

Question: for those of you shopping for another job, what do you say when someone extends a job offer but you need a few days to hear from another employer?

Do you just say you need time to think about it or what?

You respectfully reply that your interested in their offer and you'll let reply to them in x amount of days on your decision. And ask that they hold that position.
