Default i was just thinking...

would there be a way to hook the a/c up to the intake pipe, cooling the pipe? and if so, do you think it would really do anything? just thinking of making a really cold air intake. :dunno: just something that popped in my head.

now discuss.

Damn I remember seeing a post like this on SHO 3 years ago. I don't think it'd work. Your A/C won't be able to push enough air to feed the engine.

Wouldn't the extra engine load and weight from A/C unit cancel out he gain?

assuming there were any benefits, i'm sure they would be negated by the running a/c..

welcome to the 2nr squad.

lets say it adds 2hp. the engine running the compressor would take it right back.

The air moves too fast to ever be cooled down by anything really.

It's an old drag racer's trick to place a bag of ice on the intake manifold between runs, to lower its temperature and make a cooler intake charge. I've heard of similar things that use A/C coolant to do the same thing. But using it while you're driving will never give you a net increase in power.
