Rick, can I find one for like $450 in a 19" model? Also, should I get a video card with digital out?

I haven't seen a 19" for that cheap. I've seen a few 18" for close to that amount. about $490.

DVI will make your life soooo much easier! No need to do any settings! It's all automatic! but it still lets you change the color settings etc to your preferrence.

video cards with DVI are pretty cheap these days. you can get one for under 100 for sure and probably under 70 if you look around.

Hmm, what's the cheapest you've seen a 19" for? How do I tell if my current Video card has it?

The cheapest I've seen was $637. Not too many companies make 19" right now. The sweet spot is in the 15".

DVI connector looks like this:

Standard RGB looks like this (the blue one):

Red X on first pic, what about 18" then? 15 is too small.

19's are running 700+, ive seen 18's at 499 or so, but the 17 i bought was so superior in quality to the "cheap" 18 i would avoid the larger hceaper monitor

yeah which is the reason why I went with the 19" instead of the dell 18"

I've seen the dell 18" below 490 at one time when you could stack their discounts.

but keep for just regular home use even the "older" (not cheaper) 18" will be fine.
