Thanks, Goat! He just helped me fix the HOME spawn. It's now on top of the Supply House, instead of way the hell over at Lab's place.

drew's place is safe now. monsters aren't spawning inside anymore. I put an iron door on. Push button outside, pressure plate inside, and a switch to leave it open during the day.

THe monsters seem to be working well. A couple hits actually kills them.
