Yes...but the only "public" restroom I will use is at work. And even then I go incognito and go upstairs to the bathroom where the offices are and nobody really uses.

i have the same problem too. doesn't help one time i had a kid trying top peak through the crack in the door and look under while i was taking a shit once. he was like "oh didn't know you were in there." i replied "door was locked and i said it was taken." fucking non English speaking kids....
