im doing what will is doing and i totally only use my right thumb. in fact im not even thinking about using my left thumb at all. i tried it and it doesnt feel "right" at all to use my left hand.

Both, depends which hand is finishing the word preceeding the space. Was taught to use both in typing class in 9th grade.
