Default Acura TSX cababilities??

Found these stats from Car and Driver. Anyone know what kind of performance can be found on this car with some modifications like AEM CAI, pulleys, exhaust, supercharger? I haven't really been following the honda/acura network since I got my 1997 ///M3, but I'm planning on a return and the TSX has really caught my eye and I'm tired of paying all the high priced inspections, tires, etc for my car, not to mention if I want a turbo set up it will cost me 10k just in parts!!

Estimated base price: $26,000
Engines: DOHC 16-valve 4-in-line, aluminum block and head, Honda PGM-FI engine-control system with port fuel injection
Displacement: 144 cu in, 2354cc
Power (SAE net): 200 bhp @ 6800 rpm
Torque (SAE net): 166 lb-ft @ 4500 rpm
Transmissions: 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic with lockup torque converter
Wheelbase: 105.1 in
Length: 183.3 in
Width: 69.4 in
Height: 57.3 in
Curb weight: 3250-3350 lb
C/D-estimated performance (6-sp):
Zero to 60 mph: 6.6 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 15.5 sec @ 90 mph
Projected fuel economy:
EPA city driving: 21-22 mpg
EPA highway driving: 29-31 mpg
Anyone know what the rated 0-60 and quarter mile are? I am looking at selling the ///M and getting one of these. Its just costing me too much for upkeep on the Bimmer.

Should expect the same gains as the RSX Type-S. This car is a lot heavier though.

Well... a little more, probably, since it's a 2.4 Liter engine.

If Hondata manages to squeeze 20 more horsepower outta this with tuning... I'll just have to buy one.

I bet it's going to have a lot of potential, it's just a matter of time.

I mean, it is a K-series still.

So Hondata is the big player nowadays, huh? A friend of mine Matt works for Hondata, so maybe I'll contact him. He has a 98 type R that he is about to turbocharge. Also just out of curiousity, what kind of gains are people getting on their RSX type s's?

search button, read the RSX forum

I'd reply with numbers, except I don't own one. No one really trusts the magazine dynos that are pulling double-digits from a CAI... I do :fawk:

I am a prior 1995 GSR owner and the AEM CAI gave me double digit numbers. I went from 140hp atw stock to 152 hp atw. That was probably the best bang for the buck I ever spent. I got a CAI for my M3 and they claim 13hp, but I never had it dynoed before and after so who knows.
