so someone took a regular CAI, cut it in half and gave you a rubber connector to put it back together and called it something new. wow.

It's not a dual pipe like most would think... it's 2 pipes that you put together to make one pipe.

Why? Well you could have a CAI when you want it or a short ram when you want that. Other than that I see no benefit other than it might be easier to ship.

I've seen those for like 1.5 years now. Not really... "new"... but more rare than normal ones.

the aem v2 is a dual pipe but one's inside another

thats just a shortram with a CAI extension.. a 2-part CAI.. like i own.. and alot of other peeps do..

please thats not a dual pipe a real dual piped CAI u'd need a v8 or something higher than that for 2 throttle bodies.. like in a BMW they can have 2 CAI... i think that one in the pic would suck up even more heat than a short ram.. a 2peice CAI just makes installing easier, allows for a Bypass to be added and is cheaper to ship.. the gains are about the same as a 1peice really depends on manufactor

My AEM CAI that i've had for about 4 years now has 2 pipes put together, it's nothing new

Look at the bend in the top right of the picture. See how the reflection isn't smooth and the pipe ovals a bit and then straightens back out? :barf:
