Sucks for the families of the dead, but some people are going to get paid.

Yeah, it was nuts seeing it on the news. Some of the flames were like 7x taller than a 2-story house... I kept looking at the houses to get perspective and going "no way" :eek3:

People who were there said that just after the explosion flames were 3-400ft high. The current report is that 38 homes were destroyed, not 53...with 7 more having significant damage. Four fatalities so far, but they are searching house by house with dogs right now.

A guy that was supposed to play in a golf tournament at my work today no-showed because he lost his house, and his son was in the hospital with injuries from the blast/fire. A person I work with knows someone who lives in the area of the fire...after the explosion he had no power and was trying to leave after gathering his cats/dogs. He rolled up the garage door by hand and the car in the driveway was on fire. So he hopped in his jag in the garage...by the time he got out, his headlights and taillights had melted.

They had the fire 50% contained last night, but it flared up somewhere and was burning again this morning.

I suspect you could fit what is left of a lot of those killed in a coffee can.

This is some serious shit, will be LOT more casualties than 4 dead when all is said in done. Hopefully traffic kept a lot of people from being home from work, lucky it did not happen a few hours later.

If that earthquake in 1989 had happened in the middle of the night instead of 5 in the evening, they would have been pulling bodies out buildings for a month.

The blast was so large it registered as a 1.3 earthquake. That's nuts. It ended up being a 30" gas pipe that broke and exploded somehow. They couldn't get to the pipe to inspect it today because the hole from the explosion was still filled with water from the firefight.

Looks like I was wrong, report I just read said nobody unaccounted for at this point. Just incredible the toll was not higher.
