Why?
Allow me to list the similarities:
use the corporate mid-sized front wheel drive sedan platform
have the corporate mid-sized sedan's V6
2-door "sporty" coupe styling
The only Ford product which sort of meets the same qualifications is the Mercury Cougar which is essentially a 2-door Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique.
I don't even know why I'm bothering to explain this, the correlation is readily apparent to anyone with an IQ above 60.
