i think imma go with the EPSON Stylus Photo 820 cheap and does what i need it to.

No doubt HP is the best IMO! I work for a medium size company and we had all types/sorts of printers, from dot-matirx to high output color laser printers, to full size sheet-fed plotters, from all the big names. No doubt HP was the best choice by far and as a result we're almost an all HP printer company For home use for a photo printer, go with the HP Photosmart 7350 or 7550 or if you don't want to spend as much money and don't need all the bells and whistles, go for the HP 5550.

these days you can buy a great inkjet that can do photo as wel as text.

i bought my hp5550c for $100. can print up to 4800x4800dpi with some technology voodoo stuff.

the prints look great! specialy when printed on photo paper.
