Default What's a good notebook for 2k-ish?

I'm looking for a new notebook. I'd like the thinner and lighter ones.

How is this new Centrino technology? Those notebooks seem slower at 1.3-1.6 but they save battery life?

Recommendations? I'm thinking a Dell m500 or m600 right now because of the free shipping.

dude seriously i'd never buy a laptop that wasn't a toshiba, apple or alienware and those each have a specific use, toshiba really does kick everybodies ass when it comes to laptops, go to www.zdnet.com and pick one any one and you will see nothing but rave reviews

Go Mac, you'll never go back. Plus, I can "share" software via Limewire if you do!

crashing is a software issue not a hardware issue (usually) or a user issue
