Does that header wrap that keep in 70% of heat (supposedly) actually DO anything?

Yes, it keeps in heat, so it doesn't go into your engine bay.

yep.. does 2 things... one, it keeps the exhaust temp up therefore keeping exhaust velocity up, therefore reducing baackpressure.

two, it keeps extra heat out of the engine bay keeping the intake air cooler.

they also help ceramic-coated headers crack faster than they normally would.
