Looks like linmodems.org hasn't cracked the Lucent nut yet. But there is growing Linux support for so-called "Winmodems". And even hardware modems are pretty cheap these days.

I've been running Mandrake as my primary OS since KDE2 came out. It rocks! No need to put up with MS BS any more.

I'm running mandrake 9 with kde 3 and it's great. I have always looked into buying a hardware modem but I always get side-tracked or my local store doesn't carry it (the closest to an electronics store around here is walmart ).
