poker is something i know nothing about, but doesnt a fullhouse beat like everything else? i think a straight flush is like runner up to that...?

royal flush > straight flush > four of a kind > full house > flush > straight > three of a kind > two pair > two of a kind > nothing

wait.. a flush beats a straight? isn't a straight statisically harder to get? :dunno:

Not really...

You figure there are 13 cards in a deck with the same shapes....yet you can form a straight with just any shapes and/or continuous combo.

total possible hands of 5 cards - 2,598,960

total possible flushes - 5,148

total possible straights - 10,240

a straight is about twice as common. discrete math comes in handy sometimes

Yeah, just remember that when you are playing 5 card stud poker. You play what you get, 4 up and showing one down in your hand.
