My front license plate is ratty looking. Wisconsin has you re-use plates from car to car, so this plate came off my Miata. It was mounted on the Miata's crappy metal plate bracket. The MS6 has a better plate mount but even just a tag frame doesn't fully make up for the junky plate, so now I have one of those smoked plastic covers.

As far as I can tell the only way to get a new plate is to get a vanity plate. WI only charges $15 per year for a vanity plate and it's pretty easy to get the one you want since there's only ~5.5 million people in WI and the aforementioned plate transferring. If I decide not to keep the vanity tag I could go back to a new set of generic plates.

I'm trying to come up with a non-stupid vanity plate. Probably something to do with the car. Nobody outside of car nerds has ever heard about the car, and even plenty of supposed car people don't really know what it is, so a little help in the right direction might be nice. But so far everything to me sounds kind of dumb. All I've got is:

AWD FTW
MS6 FTW
AWD WHEE
MS6 WHEE
TURBO 6
SPEED 6
SNO PROB
various shortenings of Mazdaspeed like MZSPD 6

First and foremost however I only want a car nerd approved vanity plate so please oh please give me better ideas, or let me know if any of these might actually be good.

Quick wiki turned up some good abbreviations

MPS (euro name)
MZR-VDT (engine/type)

I actually like the DISI direct injection name, something like DISI-23

Hmm...those both seem even more obscure than the car is already. I kind of want something that'll give a clue about what the car is.

Well yeah car nerds know what the car is. But perfect example, a guy I work with, who is a car guy but maybe not the smartest one ever, he knows it's the hotted-up 6, but the other day I made some offhand remark about how the awd & blizzaks are great in the snow and he's like "wait wait wait that car is awd?" So yeah. Just like, something slightly conversation-startey about the car.

Just slap an AWD badge on the boot and call it a day if that's what you want people to know. Other than that the obscure ones are ftw.
