slowing down hd for win2000
I have to reboot about 3 times for my computer to turn on. I just installed win2000. I was told that my hd is to fast for win2000. How do I slow it down to resolve this problem?

That's like walking upto your boss and saying, "I get paid too much. Either take some off now or I quit!" Or, depending on age telling your teacher "these grades are too high! I demand an F!"
Thats just dumb talk. Someones trying to :bs: you.

i used to tell lagger sin starcraft that they had their modem on slow and they should reach around the back and flip the switch from "slow" to "fast."

How much RAM to do you have in your computer. I have seen problems with WinXP doing something like that because it used all the RAM in the boot process. I am with the other guys some one is messing with you on the HD speed to high. Thats actually pretty funny.
it might be that your motherboard doesn't recognize your hard drive at first. on mine, with my secondary hard drive, if i do a cold boot, i have to unplug it and plug it while the machine is starting up, otherwise the mobo will never see either hds. it's pretty funky. apparently it's a known problem with certain western digital hard drives.
I work for a help desk on a military installation and we run windows 2000 pro here. Whoever told you that needs to shove a HD you know where...theres no such thing as your HD being TOO FAST! Ridiculous, you probably have a crappy MB or depending on the brand of HD it could have "other" hardware conflicting with it. But as far as your HD being too fast...slap whoever told you that.
