Default Insurance update (Why Allstate rocks)

Well, I turn 21 on April 29th. I just got off the phone with my agent, with whom I expressed concerns of a $500 deductible. I'm really paranoid with all the guys on H-T getting ITRs jacked.

My current rate is $1767 ($294.50/month) right now, for 20K/40K/50K w/ $500 deductible. The new rate will be $947 ($161/month) for 20K/40K/50K w/ $250 deductible.

I think I actually feel better about going on longer trips and/or into cities.

Holy shit that's a lot of money!

You're getting JACKED. I had double the coverage with a $200 deductable on my GSR for $180 a month.

How did you get a lower deductable with lower payments? :eh:

Screwed By Insurance

Hopefully your coverage with Allstate doesn't end up like a few of the horror stories on there...

I think he got the lower rate 'cause he turned 21...

Good to know you're being screwed directly, right?

every company has issues. It doesn't seem like allstate is the worst on that site

i was quoted $650/6months with 100/300/100 500 deductible for 01 itr. of course i'm 30 and have a clean record with only 1 claim in the past 4 years.

btw for comparison the m coupe was $480/6months same coverage.

this was with mercury insurance. (same as Derek)

No, I'm really not. I've called around EVERY local insurance company. My closest quote, AFTER turning 21 was 1800/6 months. So, how Allstate is charging me 1/2 of that and still raping me is my question to you. My quotes for the R w/ current record ranged from: 1800/6 to 5800/6 with STATE MINIMUM (20/40/20 & $500)

I bought an 01 LS @ 19 with a clean record. I proceeded to wreck it for $13.8K & get a speeding ticket at the same time (80 in a 65). My insurance went up from $1350 to 1700/6 months. I traded in for the R and it went from 1700 to 1767.
