Great game. Haven't even touched the campaign, just multiplayer. Mostly Co-op against the AI to get the hang of the differences in tactics and the tech trees. I played SC pretty consistantly since '98 when it came out so I had really high expectations on gameplay. I'd say they were 90% met. There's a few little things I wish were different but overall it's a winner in my book. They did a great job at preserving the gameplay, which is why SC1 was so damn good to start with, but at the same time adding some new stuff and adding sweet graphics.

Graphics wise you're going to want a 9600GT/ATI HD Radeon 4650 minimum. You can get away with less than that but you'll lose out on some of the graphic experience, which is pretty sweet. I recommend a GTS250/ATI 4850 or better. I run a 4850 and it's beautiful. It eats up a bit of RAM as well. I'm running 6GB and my memory usage kicks from 20% to 50% on Windows 7 64-Bit. That's nearly 2GB just for the game running alone. Windows 7 will use more memory if you have it though. I ran it on my HTPC with a 4650 and 2GB of RAM and it ran just fine. Usage shot up to about 90% though. Alt-Tabbing was out of the question when my wife wanted to use the internet for a minute.

I am running dual 8800GT's on an older Q6600 so I am afraid I can't run at max graphic settings....

9500 GT w/ 3.4Gig processor.

Seems to run fine, i'm sure it's a little graphically downgraded though.

I'm not sure if it would be worth it to play on any laptop.

Also, i have no clue what the specs on macbooks are at all.

intel core 2 duo 2.0 ghz
2gb ram
geforce 9400M

that's about all i know

i have monitors that i can play it on if you were talking about not playing on a laptop because of the size.

if i download the game (because i can't find it in the store anywhere) and it runs like shit on my macbook, so then i buy an imac, would i be able to play the same copy on the imac or would i have to buy another copy?
