wednesday morning thread
Took my car in for service today, already have 15k on the clock in a year. While walking around a salesman tried to get me to trade in my 09 TL for a 2010. I chuckled.
But I do have a slight issue with my car. I signed up for a 12k/year lease, which based on my personal driving, is fine. I do some driving for work which is rumored to become heavier in the near future. As in, I could be doing regular trips which would be in excess of 300 miles. The cost doesn't bother me, as all those trips would be reimbursed at $0.50/mile, when I only pay $0.20/mile for overages. I take that money, sock it away in an account, and have it available when the lease is up. I already have more than enough to cover this year's overage and don't see why I wouldn't be able to bank enough to cover my excess driving. That said, so long as the car is in good shape, can a dealer charge me more that the $0.20/mile noted in the lease?

You're already $600+ in the hole just from miles. That's another 2-3 car payments they just made.:reechy:

Leasing was the best option for me at the time, and that money isn't coming from my pocket. Plus, everything is negotiable in this country. I bet once my lease is up, I don't pay for all of my miles.
you signed a binding contract. . . you already agreed to the terms. they have no incentive to NOT have you pay.
Legally, I have to pay. But if I decide to lease or purchase another Acura from the dealership, I can use that as leverage. And of course, I'd ensure they don't include the mileage as a hidden fee in a new transaction. Now, if I decide to go a different road than Acura, then I'm paying every last cent.

i mean if it works for you great, but i'm willing to bet it wont
