Default 'puter puter trouble

Anyone have a problem with sound on the Asus A7S333 mobo?

Mine is acting wierd. DVD sounds are really crappy and yet a CD played from the same drive sounds fine. Mp3s sound choppy and sh*tty.

Anyone got any suggestions? I checked the wire and also checked for interference from other sources and everything is kosher.

Thanks.

I tried a different sound card, its actually one that worked in my old puter and I still get the same problem.

Gonna try again and see what it does. Could it be that I just have a really crappy dvd playing software???

I have Win DVD 4.0... I tried Power DVD and it did the same damn thing. I doubt the drive is bad because it plays cds just fine. Grrr I am beginning to get pissed at this 'puter... maybe if I tell it that it won't get the new Radeon 9000 card and NewQ Equalizer it'll behave.

I have the NewQ Plat!! It's awesome. Just make sure the ribbon cable going from the backplate upto the NewQ is isolated and shielded... it picks up noise from other things really easy and can make your speakers have a constant hum.

Took me about a week to get it where it didn't do that.

I am looking at one on ebay for $40 + $10 shipping. But thats an external one, this new case I have has a sky fan so I don't have any place to put it. A friend of mine has an old 2367 Gold and its internal so I might cut a deal with him.

still no workie, might have to call Asus and see if they can help.
