Your weekend?
was fixing my bike all day today and trucked it to a friends house... after wrapping up the day and getting ready to grab some grub, we witnessed a rider go down right infront of the house my bike was at. around 10:15 PM, she must have taken the turn too fast and slipped on some gravel on the shoulder.. went between a telephone pole and tree no wider than the handle bars, and went across a residential driveway and down some outside steps before high-siding into the yard. she landed about 20 feet away from the saddle on her back, the bike had to have flipped and landed on its side, front end damage and windshield was smashed i believe.
i wish i could have gotten some pics, but that wasn't the priority at the scene. i called in to dispatch and ran down to her along with my friend and his dad, and the neighbors as well. homeowners also ran outside and we checked her ABC's while on the phone. she was unresponsive, but breathing with a pulse. myself and someone else that was there (with a steph and a bag not sure what his qualifications were) did a quick assessment.
her helmet definitely saved her, and thats what i wanted a picture of.. it had a huge gash along the side probably about 4 inches long and 2 wide. she had blood on her face and in her mouth but her airway was good. left the helmet on and waited for ems to arrive. i believe she was life flighted. she started moaning shortly after being loaded onto the stretcher.
ride safe guys.. pay attention at night and dont be in a rush. she was riding with her dad behind her.. honda shadow.
...oh, and my bike runs great now :hs:

wow quite the excitement for you.
i spent the day at a board meeting, had our senator as a guest. ran some errands, food shopping, laundry and pulled weeds in my front yard.
spent the rest of the day on the couch because of allergies

They just released the statistics for Colorado motorcycle fatalities in the last year, and something like 90% of the fatalities had no helmet. If you don't wear a helmet, you might as well just put a gun to your head... same difference. What really pisses me off is when I see someone riding with their helmet strapped to their bike instead of their head. :slap:

weekend was killer, hit up whistlers bend disc park, camped for a night, hit another round of disc, saw gf's 'rents, had first taste of sonic, now back home about to make tacos for dinner and maybe bleed/replace pads on brakes later (bike)
went fishing all day sat out in the bay by province town. caught 30 strippers. or close too it. could only keep 12 since there were 6 of us. when we were hitting our limit we weren't taking everyone that was okay to keep. i snagged a line and it was connected to at least 2 lobster traps. legally couldn't touch the traps so the captain dragged them out to deeper water and dropped them. fun day. beautiful out on the bay. today did laundry and went to home depot.
