I don't know. MSRP is set at $38,500 for the car and the gullwing top is an aftermarket piece with a price tag of $3135 when converted to US$.

0-60 in ~5.0 or less.
It's hard to say since the engine is new to the car (US get the Celica GT-S engine) and it will have approximately 200hp on Lotus tuned ECU.
BTW wet weight = 1850lbs (estimated)

Euro version is around 1700lbs so for the US version ~1800lbs is a good guess.
Power to weight ratio of under 10 to 1
in my favorite color too

a few months ago, there was an article with an elise. it had a b18c5 in there. i was told that it was swapped in there and the stock engine was taken out
does lotus always use other companys' engines?

it was designed by prototypracing. it's not done by Lotus.
if i have funds after getting the elise and I felt the 2GE-ZZ or whatever the engine code is not enough I will be taking mine to prototyperacing to have Joe put in a K20A

should be at least 240hp and a lot more torque

Lotus doesn't always use other companys engine. for example the engine in the Esprit is a lotus engine, there are couple of variations of it. at least a 4 and a 8. both turbo charged.
The Elise was originally designed as a low cost super handler. Thus they used the Rover K-series engine. anywhere from 118hp all the way upto 190hp was/is available.
But the K-series wont meet US or the new Euro emissions requirements so they needed a new engine if they were to bring the Elise to the US. Believe me they need to. 2003 or 2004 is the last year for the Esprit, which mean Lotus will have nothing to sell in the US.
