I liked it for what it was....but I hate walking away from soemthing confused more then I was when I walked in.

 

What are you confused about? I thought everything was wrapped up pretty nicely

 

Here's a list of some of the questions I have
1) What in the world was the Dharma Initiative?
2) How did the "Others" in the temple even get there?
3) How did the asian guy have the ability to see dead people?
4) What was the significance of MIB seeing the kid while running through the forest?
5) How did Hugo and Ben die?
6) Why was it that Walt did not go back to the island?
7) In the final scene where was Walt?
8) Why was Claire holding a infant Aaron, when Aaron was already rescued off the island via the chopper? Any why did Desmond state he saw claire getting on the chopper.
9) What IS the black smoke? Yes we know it was in the cave with the light, but where did it come from? What does it represent?
10) Why didn't Ben go into the Church?

 

mike i am going to try to answer your questions based on what i think.

1.) dharma was a research group trying to exploit the powers of the island.
2.) like all the other others.
3.) born with it.
5.) who knows, some people live longer they said. probably of old age. just like sawyer and all the people on the plane.
6.) you know what, i askd same question. maybe he found the something all the others didn't have.
7.) contract issues probably.
9.) black smoke was jacobs brother. he got transformed when he was dumped into the light.
10.) i dont think ben went into the church because he did bad bad things and was kinda scared.

 

I'm glad they didn't try to explain every little thing. they would've just screwed it up.

as for how Hugo and Ben died...who knows? Natural causes? How did everyone else die? and I'm glad Walt didn't come back, kid was annoying...almost as annoying as his dad.

 

But Ben and Hugo were the watchers over the island so technically they should've lived forever, or at least until they had someone else take over for them.

I loved it!!!!! I thought it was a great ending.

 

I thought it was beautifully done, but I was expecting something else. I loved the final scene with Jack's eye closing.

I wish we had more answers and explanations to things like the numbers, the whispers, etc. All they said in the show about the numbers was "Jacob had a thing for numbers". They didn't address the Valenzetti equation at all in the show.

Jae: Here's my take

1. Dharma Initiative was a group of scientists and mathematicians studying the unique electromagnetic properties of the island.
2. All "others" were people that Jacob had at one time or another brought to the island.
3. Miles was on the island as a baby. They didn't explain it well, but I believe his powers are from being around the electromagnetism from such a young age.
4. The kid was Jacob as a kid. Jacob was dead. MIB could see dead people and was seeing Jacob. They weren't clear about why dead Jacob showed up in kid form here and there.
5. Hugo and Ben were left on the island and the next protectors. For all we know, they lived thousands of years until they found someone to replace them.
6. Wasn't explained well. I think Michael was who the island wanted and Walt just happened to be along for the ride.
7. I need to re-watch, but Christian said something to the fact that it wasn't everyone's time yet.
8. Not sure, need to re-watch, but Christian said time didn't exist in that place.
9. Well the light was explained as Life, death, and rebirth. A little light is in every man. I think all of the light was too much for MIB's body to contain and for whatever reason, it turned him into the smoke monster. Kind of a comic book type explanation.
10. I think Ben just wasn't ready to move on yet.
