know what your car is worth and focus on strongpoints, also already konw ahead of time the lowest you can go possibly but dont use that right away h:

 

-get it detailed
-don't get too frustrated by all the people that try to low ball you

 

be upfront and honest and dont try to hide anything. when i wrote my descriptions for the bmw and 97 dodge i included every little detail and during the walk pointed out the flaws instead of waiting for them to ask about it. also give yourself a few hundred for wiggle room, but be clear you dont want to waste any time. price is firm.

I have sold about 6 cars in the last 3 years, and the best thing you can do is be honest. The other thing is make sure you know the market your selling to, the bulk of the cars I sold were modified cars, so i focused on listing on forum boards because thats where my audience shopped, I just sold my wifes 08 subaru in 6 days because I was able to price it below what the dealers in my area could sell it for. Dont be afraid to offer little things like offering to drop off the car

I have a truck on CL right now and it has been the dumbest series of emails I have ever gotten for a vehicle. Pics and description including the good and bad but still they ask how much or what year...one guy was trying to haggle the price and hadn't even come to see it yet.

be honest with everything. dont sell to shady people who focus on all the bad points of the car. sell to people who are STOKED on your price/car before they even come to see it in person. sell it for a reasonable price.
