Default Golf Crew: Irons

What's everyone here using for irons?

I'm thinking about buying a new set this year and I'm not sure where to start. I've heard good things about Mizuno clubs so I might try some out...

My budget is $700-$800 + tax for a set of irons...

Any recommendations?

Muscle Back or Cavity Back, How consistent is your swing, handicap? are you looking for workability, forgiveness? What are you swinging now?

Last year I think I played 15-20 rounds of golf. I don't work the ball, I just like to hit nice long straight shots.

I definitely want some forgiveness as I'm not out there everyday working on my swing. I don't know my handicap, I shoot 80 to 90s depending what course I'm on. (not par 3s)

I'm definitely not a good player, I'm alright but I want to get better. The set I'm using right now is a generic brand from some golf shop I bought 7-8 years ago. They're alright but they lack forgiveness and I feel like I'm not getting the distance I should be getting.

I was looking at the Mizuno mx 200, I've been reading reviews and so far they seem right for me. I have to try them out first though. I looked at Taylor Made Burner Irons and I didn't really like them.

Titleist 710 AP2, I like Mizuno's forged blades but I don't know about the cavity backs, I would also hit the new Titleist 710 CB's and the Talory Made R9 irons if you want something forgiving. The titleist irons will make you work for it a bit more, but the outcome is worth it. Whichever you go with, make sure you get fitted. Most places will do this for free or a very small fee, it is well worth waiting a little while for proper clubs instead of just grabbing off the shelf.

I'll be hitting up golf town soon to try out a few. I'll definitely get them fitted.

I just ordered a new driver! How coincidental! My cousin just got the new r9 iron set and r9 460 driver.

I just picked up the r9 Super-tri. 9.5 stiff with the 75 gram shaft
