The Xsara in its roadgoing form ain't that special. The top model has a 2.0-liter inline four with 167 hp and weighs about 2700 lbs.

Think base model RSX or Si hatch and you've got the idea.

They're still better looking though, and theres a huge aftermarket for them. You Just have to get everything from europe.
