I would suggest a 6.5" component set with a high quality aluminum dome tweeter, an efficient 10" sub, and a 4x100 amp to run it all (100x2 for the comps, 200x1 for the sub). Unfortunately, I've been out of the game too long to recommend any gear. My last sub was an Elemental Designs 10o which was SOLID.

I don't see why you need a 12" so long as whatever sub you buy reaches the lower frequencies. The key is building a properly tuned enclosure that maximizes the potential of your sub. When I do my installs, I like to maintain as much trunk space as possible. My focus install utilized the space where a rubbish factory sub sat (had a custom fiberglass box built) and a false floor where the amps sat. I had tight bass response and could still haul 10 cases of beer.

As for the rear, buy an inexpensive set of coaxs that upgrade the factory speakers.

You can power the rear fill from the headunit and amp the fronts/sub.

So is wasting money on improving sound for speakers few people will hear. When I upgrade my front stage, I typically fade it to the front anyway.
