Default Almost a week and $1000 later...

I got my car back. Main shaft bearings were messed up, had a new clutch installed, and I bought new tires. Anyway, I have a quick question. If a shop screws something up (like putting ATF in a manual transmission), but you don't have paperwork proving that (except what's in their computer system), is there an effective way to approach them & tell them the situation to maybe get them to pay for part of the damage?

if you KNOW thats what they did, confront them and make them pay for all of it.

I'm pretty sure they did it...when I went back and mentioned it, they didn't hesitate to change out the transmission fluid 'just in case'. And when they compared the old fluid with what they were going to put in, they were two totally different fluids (one red, one clear). Unfortunately, I can't find receipts for either time I stopped in

Red is definitely ATF. MTF (a.k.a. gear oil) is very similar to motor oil.

Damnit, now that the weather is warm and I have my windows down... I'm hearing all kinda squeeks and groans from my car.
