Default Router help?

anyone know how to fileshare if two people are behind routers...i am having problems direct connecting with AIM and i don't know how to fix my current predicament

Thats more firewall than router.

i don't know 100% BUT if ur router is also a firewall then obviously ur router is closing ports.....when u direct connect throught AIM to another user u guys are using a port to connect....but since the router closed it u can't connect...so u first find out what port it uses to connect and then u go to ur router and open that port.....how do u open a port? depends on the router..... anyway like i said i'm not 100% sure that its the solution but give it a try if u know what u are doing.

hey wxt i run a linksys wireless access point router with 4-port switch and i searched their sight but all it had explained was ICQ so i don't think it's very helpful to me....and i don't know how to search for ports....

are u trying to connect to someone who is on the same router? or somewhere on the net?
