from what i see in these pic, the apache doesnt look like it has any side protection at all

 

Although I can relate, we have to remember we aren't savages. In a time of war, I'd take a POW and ruff'em up, but thats about it. When I was in boot camp, they showed us video footage of the Army helicopter pilot being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu. I'll never forget that nor would I ever do that to an enemy combatant.

 

I thought the whole chopper was armored? at least against most small arms fire (not rocket launchers if hit on the vital areas).
