Has this been done?
One of my wild wacky ideas...
We have a whole bunch of old headunits from the different cars we had. Can I actually use one of those as a tape deck and radio for a pc. I know it probably would be easier just to lean over and turn my stereo on, heck the damn remote is just in front of me.

could you. of course.
wire up the output of the front or rear speakers into a mini headphone jack and plug it into the line in on the sound card.
Cut into one of the +12v wires coming from the PSU and solder it to the +12v of the radio... same with ground.
Duct Tape it to the side of the case really ghetto style... done.
