i went to a nissan today and drove a fairlady touring model. the car was nice and it made me think about something but thats another thrend
it gets on my nerves when they treat me like a 16 year old kid who knows jack about cars.

snitches get stitches
If I wasn't intending on buying a car, I would play completely stupid just to see what kind of BS they tell me. It'd be fun. If I were intending on buying, I'd do the opposite, so they know not to rip me off when it comes time to pay.
It's all on what your intentions are.

All my friends call me first, see if I can't find the car they want for them. If I can't, I call the GM @ the Acura dealer, he looks for me.
If I go with my friends, they let me do the talking. Salesmen tend to default to the sales manager though, because I'm just as aggressive as they are. If I'm going out test driving, I act dumb as hell, but like I've got all this money to blow.
