Default Car totalled:(

No, not mine

My girlfriend totalled her 98 Accord the other day, she's fine, minor injuries only, she was at fault, hit a truck in the process. She owed like 10G's still on the car, so if the ins co deems in totalled, what happens? Does she get a check for the low blue book value of the car? And if so, will she be responsible for the difference if she owes more than it's worth?

when my brothers jetta was stolen they cut a check for 24K. the car was 2 years old and had 30K miles. he only owed 10K because we paid 23K for the car it was a 4 year loan

ins. company was Allstate.

Yeah..I think she just gets her car payed off thats it?:dunno:

Because when our 97 C220 had a engine fire and burned to a crisp. We still owed money on the car, but insurence just payed off the car for us. My dad was kinda happy that it burned because he dident want the bills..

Yea, I paid like $479 or something like up front, so if I totaled my car or got stolen, I'm good.
