There were no doctors in our sense of the word but healers.
The priests of the Sun-God Ra in On (today's Heliopolis part of Cairo) were versed in healing since the most ancient times. Only priests of the Temple were allowed to acquire the knowledge and anybody could go and get treatment there without payment.
Hippocrates the famous Greek Doctor,who's oath today's physicians still take got his knowledge from Egypt and in particular the Temple of Ra.
There knowledge of anatomy was very great and made easier by the custom of enbalming which allowed them to have full knowledge of human anatomy.
