Default DIY Home Crew v. Shelves

So I was looking to purchase some garage shelving. Everything I was looking at was pretty crappy in quality so I tried to make some. The garage in question is pretty small so I wanted to build 1 set of shelves and have enough room to store hella stuff. The unit I built is 3.5''x3.5''

The unit was built with 2x4's and 3/4'' plywood. I have it screwed into the ceiling joists and nailed into the floor. It is extremely sturdy. I had about 100lbs on the one shelve and it bowed a little but other than that it held good.

I plan on putting casters on the piece of plywood thats sitting underneith on the floor so I can put all my tools on it and pull it out when I need it.

Will build some of these in your new garage

Good stuff.

Right now I just use some plastic shelving from Home Depot. I dont really put anything heavy on them. I just keep everything in bins. I have an unbuilt 6ft tall cabinet that I plan to store stuff in once I put that together. I reason I dont like open shelving is because they look messy I eventually want all my crap behind doors

Did you cut the slots into the wood yourself?
