Default Attn HAN: recommend me laptops

My current laptop just had the mobo fried.
I want to stay away from pos Toshibas.
~500 bucks
I want something that won't shit out after a year or two.
I don't really have any speed or size ideas. 250 or larger hd. Ram doesn't matter.
No netbooks. 15" or 14.5 is enough.
Media card reader optional

I've been thinking Levono. Never heard a bad thing about them. Any other brands or recommended models?

Lots of people here hate on Dell but I've never had any real issues with any except one hard drive on my wife's old 600M.

I just bought a 15.4" Inspiron 1545. 3 GB ram, Pentium Dual-Core 2.1 GHz, 230 GB for $580. Aside from Dell fucking me over on shipping, I like the system.

I love my Inspiron. Got a similar setup to yours...1525 w/2 GHz Core2Duo, 3GB ram, 250GB hd for about $650...this was about a year and a half ago. Still running strong, no problems.

I recently bought a Samsung R522 laptop. Core2Duo T6600 2.20GHz, 4 GB ram, 320GB hdd, Windows 7

It runs so smooth, no problems whatsoever. It looks really sleek too. Anyways ran me around 800$

Looks wider in person.
