I'm not totally sure how i would go about it. I feel pretty comfortable with Excel but i'm not sure how i would be able to get the previsionned account balances for a specific date? Or are you thinking that i should make a calendar and for each day of that calendar is shows up + and - and balances?

Any Ideas would be appreciated... i refuse to think i'm the only one that would like to keep track of cash flow like that though h:
Not sure about you, but I have no need to track my individual balances on a day-to-day basis. IMHO, managing to that detail is only important if you have high balances and are constantly shifting cash from interest-bearing savings/money market accounts and your checking account. This would ensure you are earning the most interest possible on your cash.

The spreadsheet I discussed above ensures that I reserve funds in my checking account for bills that may get paid in an upcoming pay period. I'm not sure how it is in Canada, but my company pays me bi-weekly while my bills are due monthly. As such, I may have a pay period where my bills exceed my actual income. By looking at my finances on an annual basis, I can reserve funds from an earlier pay period to make sure I don't run an overdraft. I also pull out excess cash each month to a separate account to further ensure there are no overdrafts.

This method has worked well for me. I have also applied it to a family member's finances who I now manage.
