Default DJ software

Anyone use Atomix Virtual DJ?

Just wanting some feedback from real world users.
Also Traktor Pro if anyone uses that and which you prefer, why etc...

Yeah this is my first journey into digital DJ wares so it's pretty foreign to me too.

I decided on Atomix Virtual DJ

then spent an hour just mixing randomly with my current collection and who knew you could so easily go from Skinny Puppy to Weezer in 3 songs

im not sure about the newest version or tractor, but the one i used would reanalyze the bpm mid song and change it... which would usually change the tempo mid song.. sucked when it happened live.

I'm still using VirtualDJ 3.

When I was lurking on dj forums the word was that Virtual DJ is garbage.

Serato was the most popular software. But that's probably because they use it with vinyl turntables.

Virtual is doing pretty ok by me so far. I do wish it had four track slots available instead of just two but it will do the trick for now. I may look into Serato tonight though.

I am just trying to get comfortable with blending again and also trying to teach my daughter a bit about it. I let her loose on it a little tonight and she did ok although a bit rough. She needs to get more familiar with the music itself so we are going to load her music files into it this weekend.

No personal experience but I do know that my cousin uses serato's scratch for all his gigs now, so I guess you can count my vote towards it
