I made the jump....to BMW :-)
He does have a point. I mean if you had the money for a BMW, but don't own a house. I would still drive an Accord and spend the other money to pay off your house or buy one.
I mean if I had the money for a BMW. I might still consider an Accord or something that will do the same thing a BMW would and use the money to put it into something I do need. Like a house.
However if you got a house and its paid off then by all means get a BMW.

I'm sorry, anyone who pays that much for a car is nuts. Yeah, it's nice, but in 5 years, your money will be down the toilet.
You always take a loss when you buy a car. The trick is to minimize that loss and maximize what you get for the money. You'd be more productive giving that money away to a charity. Consider that the car will end up in a junkyard sitting next to a $9000 (when new) Kia in just a few years.
Honestly, I could afford a BMW. I'm driving an Accord because (for the money) it's the best combination of price, feature content and reliability.
Nice car, but there's better ways to piss away money!

That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. You have no idea how much or how little money Cyber Pete makes. You think I'm going to keep driving a Honda Accord when I finish dental school in 2 years? It's a great car, but come on. People move upwards and onwards.
Just because you don't make enough money to afford (and by afford I don't mean buy, but to reasonably afford to own the car while taking care of other expenses) a nicer car, doesn't mean you should get all jealous and say he's making a mistake.
You are either jealous or not into cars.
If I money to afford a freakin BMW I would be all up in that! Come on guys, how often are you gonna get to drive a nice, fast car? By the time most of us could ever afford a porche or something similar, we'd be too old to care...spoil yourself while you can!!
Well his car is nicer, but really not much faster at all, if at all.
Nice, but not my style. I'm the kind of person that, when getting a 3 Series, would HAVE to get the 330. Whatever I buy will have to be top of the line in its class, i.e. I would never buy any LX or DX Accord... or a non Type-S Acura, where S is avail.

I got the 325xi because I'm not much of a speed freak. I would rather have a loaded 325 (everthing ecept navi) than the extra 45 horsepower of the 330. Mine is a little bit faster than my 03 Accord EX..but the ride and handeling is significantly better.

damn i hope my next car is a BMW too
