Starting 2010 in a good way
So one of my goals was to pay off ALL my CC's no later than the beginning of Q2
Had a balance of around 11k on my cards.
Paid them all off last week. Funds taken out of my account so now im credit card debt free!!!!!
I stopped using them last year anyway. Kind of a hard habit to break when you always use your plastic for stupid shit.
So now, I only have the following
Mortage - miami home
rent - apartment in queens - OPM'ing another house in miami so this helps.
cell phone
car insurance
car note
house bills/ utilities
never using a cc again. I'm going to celebrate by going to Portugal this April.
only problem is I dont want to use my debit card for hotel and flight reservations..lol

Rather than never using a CC again, why don't you just put your monthly utilities and cell phone bill on it and pay it every month just like you would a utility bill? You can set it up to pay automatically and leave your CC at home so you wont use it for dumb shit. As much as CC's are dangerous for some people, they're an important part of maintaining a good credit score.
Good call - all I have for a CC is a global payment card - it is just a Mastercard hooked directly to my checkings account. No balance, basically a debit card with a signature rather than a pin, it works everywhere a normal CC works.
There's no point in being CC free, you just have to be smart. I only buy shit that I know I have the money for, and pay it off every month.

I've got one regular MasterCard and I mostly use it for online purchases. I use it once in a while to pay at the restaurant or when I'm shopping but I've never used it because I didn't have enough money.
I'm trying to stay debt free as much as possible. Probably gonna pay for my next car straight up cash.

Congrats on paying off debt. I did that last year and its a good feeling.
Seconded on continuing to use credit cards though, as long as you pay them off at the end of the month. They help you maintain good credit and provide more protection on purchases than using a check or debit card.
