Sorry I lagged on the pic thread. All pics are from facebook so if it's blocked at work you'll have to wait until you get home.

Fuck LAX. Got there 2 hours before the flight, but somehow they managed to delay everyone with intents security. There was a TSA guy fumbling around with a suitcase lock (the numbers one) trying to unlock it. Then once inside he saw a block of cheese that was sealed so he opened it, cut a slice, swabbed it, and ran it though a scanner :ugh: Also there were a couple cats that threw up...

Got a LONG flight across the Pacific ahead of us.

Caught a JDM flick on the plane.

The food was actually pretty good. My sister and I ordered beer to try and force sleep because of the babies that kept crying. If only they allowed baby kicking onboard.

Quick layover in Taipei. Taipei sucks. Don't ever go there. It's depressing. The toilets don't work.

Found some time to draw comics on the plane.

Mango custard thing. Pretty ok.

Pretty cool cloud formation over Vietnam.

My ipod LCD has been broken for a while. I always seem to drop it. It's basically a 30gb shuffle now

Flying over Kuala Lumpur. All the trees below are Palm trees. Palm oil is a HUGE industry in Malaysia.

My dad's Proton. They used to base all their cars off the Mitsubishi line, but the newer ones are 100% Malaysian. I'm not sure if this is the one that is based off the Galant.

Stopped at the mall real quick. First thing I saw was a Messican restaurant. haskljfhalkjsfhalsfh

Always some sort of thunderstorm in Malaysia. Fun stuff. Oh yeah the white car is based off the 4dr Mitsubishi Lancer.

Their Walmart type shopping area. Had to buy overnight clothes because we didn't know our suitcases went straight to Manila. Selamat Datang means "welcome."

Where's my steering wheel?

At my dad's house now. Here is a bottle of ketchup with chili peppers mixed in. Hot stuff.

My dad got some neighbors together for a bbq. Here's a fucking lamb.

My plate of food. It was really good. But at 8pm there it was 4am here, so my sister and I were dead tired. Our neighbor made me drink a glass of wine. I passed out a little after that.

I bet this clock ran pretty fast.

The next morning. View from our backyard. 10 years ago there was nothing behind this house.

Easiest check in ever. This machine can either scan your passport, a credit card, or you can enter your e-ticket number. I chose to scan my passport because it was cool. Then it printed out mine and my sister's boarding passes. FUCK YEAH!

Notice the lack of a line at the carry-on x-ray station.

The train that goes to the second terminal. People here smell like curry. It was a stinkhouse inside that train. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Buying a coconut at the airport, lulz

Every time there is an announcement, they interrupt the movie that is playing. Not only that, they have to do it in Bahasa (Malaysian), Chinese, and English. Kinda sucked because the movie would turn off, then on, then off, then on, then off, then on...

Finally landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport. All the Filipinos here are coming from Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Most of them are engineers for the Durkas.

Taxi cab to my cousin's house. Dudes hangin' out on the Jeepney. alksjfhlkashflkashjsfaa man I missed this. BTW I didn't ride one because a lot of people get mugged on jeepneys.

The service road beside the highway. 8 years ago this was kinda empty. They are building another highway on top of the previous one. Also lots of new billboards.

First night back home. Had dinner with some old classmates.

I tried to make a crepe by myself but the guy wouldn't let me... guh

One of my best friends in hs. She's a bible thumper though. Gross.

A bunch of model planes back at the house. Years ago I really wanted to be a pilot. It's still sort of a dream of mine. Who knows, I might go to flight school. It runs in my family. My grandpa was a pilot, 2 of my uncles are pilots, 2 cousins are pilots.

My cousin's Civic. SiR mouldings and CTR headlights come stock here. Also JDM mirrors, stock.

All Filipino families put up a nativity scene, called a belen, during the Christmas season.

View from my room. The power plant in the distance.

Steep ass stairway at the house. My grandpa fell here, broke his hip, got it infected, and died. This fucking thing always scared me. Also a creepy Jesus statue.

Typical Filipino breakfast of over 9000% pork. Fried rice (with hotdogs), pork sausage, and bacon. Cholesterol, fuck yeah!

A little lounge area. Note the model A330...haha.

My neice, Alexis. She hates the mohawk.

Motorcycles exploded onto the scene about five years ago. They are super cheap and can maneuver through traffic well. Also, they don't follow traffic regulations. This is a typical intersection in Manila. There is no stoplight, no traffic cop, no stop sign. It's anything goes. I thought NYC was bad... Driving here is never boring.

Back at the airport now, on our way to see Mom. The security guard wouldn't let us in because all we had was an e-ticket number. He said to go to the office and get an official printout. So we went there, took a number, and waited... What a ************.

Bloody ridiculous. Finally got our boarding passes. Also unbeknown to us, there is a motherfucking BOARDING fee that you have to pay after checking in. We didn't have enough money because well we had no idea we were supposed to pay. Luckily some Good Samaritan lady came through and paid for us to board.

On the plane again. My sister is also an artist. She can draw, but not as well as me.

I think this is Cebu, not entirely sure. I like islands.

Flying into Cagayan de Oro (mom's province). Check out the river. I think that's where we went rafting. Also note the lack of buildings. All trees man. When I was a baby my mom sent me here to get some fresh air, and it cured my asthma for life.

Someone checked a dog in...hahahaha. Also, a guitar, because all Filipinos are born with guitar knowledge.

Mom and sis.

Upstairs office, converted to a bedroom for our visit.

Wall of photos. Also pictured are the jew kids.

3 roasted chicken stands right next to one another on the same street corner. Just to give you more options.

Only in the Philippines #23762534855: firemen wearing sandals.

Found The Stig.

I wonder if this taxi ever gave my dad a lift. Also, 1/2 of me felt offended.

First signs of family lunch at my grandma's house. Also note the plate of pork.

Only about 1/2 of my famiry :eek3:

One of my cousins, still asleep. Probably tired from fucking hookers (story later)

So we sent the midget wearing jhorts to jump on him.

My first comic strip. Did this one when I was 10.

My drawing of Sonic and Tails.

After lunch we went straight to my aunt's house to rehearse our song numbers. Everyone had to sing for my grandma. Her birthday was a big fucking deal. She teaches music so she's used to some shenanigans. When we were kids we always had to sing when an aunt or uncle got married. Hated that shit.

Then the midget stuck a pen in the mohawk.

The one on the left came from an AFB in the UK. The one on the right came from Maryland.

More singing.

And then more famiry showed up.

Sunset.

Lechon. Literally a pig stuffed with lemon grass and garlic, and slow roasted for a few hours. I haven't had this since I left home. It's so good and so fatty. We had this every day I was there. And every morning after eating the pig, my stomach hurt real bad. Just not used to that much fat in my diet. But I still ate it anyway because I probably won't have it for another year.

Tuna collars. Fresh from the market, and grilled. Perfection.

Pig ears are good. I went for them first before anyone else tried.

One of many servings. Rice, spring roll, green mango salad, lechon, shrimps, and Diniguan (pig's blood...)

We are a Coke-drinking family, so I had to get used to that again... Mmmm coke.

Halfway there.

Check this out. All the women hard at work preparing cupcakes for the party.

While the men sit around and drink  Life here is pretty good...

Paco! The cousin I went to visit in NorCal He's 9 months now. Fucking awesome.

Look at the girl on the left. She's only 11 and already has boobs. I was like WTF put those back, you don't need them yet. And her mom (third from left), with an awesome sense of humor, greets her every morning with a boob squeeze.

This is called bibingka. It's kinda like a cupcake...sorta. Made with coconut milk, rice flour, and eggs I think. They sell this outside church after midnight mass. Or you could just get them at the market... or a street stand... or a restaurant. Anyway it's fucking GOOD. Sometimes goat cheese is baked into it.

Day of my grandma's party. Everyone had to wear these t-shirts that either read "I <3 Lola" or "I <3 Mom." Oh and we wore them to church too. My family is weird.

Back at home base, more rehearsing. The guy on the left is my crazy governor uncle. The woman pictured is his wife (my mom's sister). She's a mayor. They're like a kingpin family... Story on that later too, involves hookers.

Time for a quick jam session with the cousins. My mom's side of the family is very musically inclined. Aside from having an aunt that teaches music, I have a cousin that produces, as well as write and perform, and an uncle that composes classical pieces and shit.
The night of my grandma's party. All the families had their own color. For example mine was silver. Others wore lime green, dark green, blue, red, purple, white, etc. Yup, my family is weird.

At some point all the guys danced with grandma. Hells yeah.

More singing

Here I am shaking my fine ass.

The whole family, missing 1 guy (kinda black sheep, doesn't show up to these things).

Us.

The next morning, a box of fruit mysteriously appeared at home base. This is called Lanzones. It only grows on the island of Camiguin, where my uncle and aunt reign supreme. Just kidding, they were probably ordered. Anyway these are really good. We killed the whole box in about an hour. The whole famiry.

I brought these back with me. Probably my favorite instant coffee drink ever. Each packet contains coffee, sugar, and creamer. Just dump some hot water and enjoy.

I'm gonna take a break for now. I'll start up again later with the whitewater rafting pics.
