Default Finished rebuilding the VANOS unit in the 330i

and well....
I guess I should have done it a long time ago because
Fucking WOW.

I have powa everywhere now and the hickup that I would get when starting off would disappear. The hickup is that when I start off it feels like the car has no power then all of a sudden bam it gains like 20hp in an instant and the car accelerates much faster than I wanted it to.

I just came back after a 30mile drive and man I wish I had done this back when the car had 165k miles.

I recommend all you guys with E36/E46 to have this done or do it yourself. It wasn't that difficult and the only special tool needed are T25/T30 and a torque wrench.

http://www.beisansystems.com/

you can buy the seals from there and they have a full how to rebuild/remove

While I was at it I changed the spark plugs. It only adds about 30mins of time since you have everything open. Also good time to change the water pump and/or thermostat and/or AC and Accessories belt since you'll have the fan already removed and that's 1/2 the work to change these items.

nope mine have not gone bad at all. but it's like 2 bolts and maybe 10-15mins depending on if it's the exhaust or the intake cam position sensor
