I have a hard time seeing how this movie is going to recoup all that money.

really? I bet it will easily open with more than 100 million US wide, and near that world wide, then go on to be number 1 for at least 2 weeks, then lingering sales, then massive DVD sales. This will easily recoup the money

I kinda feel the same way. I mean, yeah the visuals might be nice but so far this movie hasn't really compelled me to run out and go see it.

And that was back in 1997 and if you adjusted the ticket price due to inflation it would be somewhere in the 2.5 plus area...

Dude, Im the last person to go watch a ''fantasy" based movie with flying dragon-things but when I saw the trailor one day (before all the hype and I had no clue who was directing it), I was like "Oh my God, I have to see this." And I still cant figure out what about it makes me want to see it so bad.

Werd, He said he's been wanting to do this for a long time but was waiting for technology to advance.
